DROUGHT - A Comprehensive Response to Aid NC Farmers - This link takes you to the online version of the mid-project booklet that shares the stories of NC farmers and how a TTFC grant has sustained their farming operation.

American Prawn Cooperative    This cooperative of small prawn farmers will use their grant to help purchase a freezing unit to extend the shelf life of their products.

Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project     Learn how ASAP is helping western NC farmers market their products.               

Blue Ridge Food Ventures  This value-added food processing facility has helped many small business owners and their TTFC grant is utilized for a new winter CSA program.

AgCarolina Financial, Cape Fear Farm Credit, & Carolina Farm Credit  Farm families can learn business and financial skills designed to increase their farm's efficiency and increase income at Farm Credit University.

Carolina Farm Stewardship Assoc.    A major study on how to expand and market soft red, winter wheat is the focus of their TTFC grant..                        

Columbus County Farmers Market    This facility has utilized NCTTFC grants to build its main structure, add freezer and kitchen space and install a honey extractor.       

Conservation Trust of NC   A TTFC grant aids this group in securing conservation easements on up to 10 NC farms.   

East Carolina University  AgriSafe & Certified Safe Farm is a 3-county grant project designed to enhance farm safety and lower insurance and health costs for farmers.  A joint project with the NC Agricultural Foundation.   

Fair Bluff, NC  To revitalize this former tobacco industry hub, the town has installed a new "Riverwalk" that will help develop tourism and the local economy.                         

Lexington Farmers Market    A revitalized train depot hosts the farmer's market on Wednesdays and weekends.

Madison Farms  This cooperative for Madison farmers has made facility improvements with their TTFC grant.

Mars Hill College TTFC funds will help towards the planning costs of "The Inn at Mars Hill," a new conference and instructional center focusing on agriculture and local businesses.

Mountain Valleys Resource Conservation & Development  20 western NC farms will benefit from alternative energy systems aided by this grant.

Nash Area Farmers Market  A new open shelter and more parking are now available for the market's 20,000+  annual visitors!

Natural Capital Investment Fund, Inc.  Grant funds utilized for loans, will help small farm/food businesses who focus on sustainable products.

NC A&T University  Expanding the production season of produce items grown by small growers is the goal of their "Seasonal Crop Diversification" project.

NC Community College System  "Project Skill-Up" enables students at 24 community colleges to receive aid for career training, skills improvement and more.

NC Dept. of Agriculture & Consumer Services    Agronomic services will be improved, expanding the reach of the Got to Be NC marketing program, workshops for farmers on innovative production techniques - just some of the programs which benefit from TTFC grants.     

NC Division of Soil & Water Conservation  Managing the state Drought Response Program that provides cost share for pasture replenishment, well drilling and more.

NC Fresh Produce Safety  Learn more about agricultural food safety programs in the state.

NC Farm Bureau's Farm Energy Efficiency Project   A state-wide project to help farmers save on their energy costs.

NC's Northeast Economic Development Foundation, Inc. Attracting new Ag/Biotechnology businesses to northeastern NC is just one of the goals of this organization.

NC Nursery & Landscape Association   The nursery and landscape industry has suffered from declining sales over the last few years.  A TTFC grant provides marketing funds to promote suppliers to both out of state and in state buyers.

NC Peanut Growers Association   In-Shell peanuts are being marketed in major drug store chains across the state.

NC REAL Enterprises  Entrepreneurs in the Upper Coastal Plain counties who wish to develop ag-related businesses will receiving extensive training from this partner.

New River Organic Growers  This cooperative of organic growers in northwestern NC are expanding their markets among restaurants and consumers.

Opportunities Industrialization of Wilson, Inc.  This active community non-profit assists displaced workers in Wilson County with re-employment.

Poplar Grove Foundation  The grant's parking lot expansion and restroom upgrades will improve the shopping experience for the vendors and customers

Rockingham County  A new coalition links up farmers with restaurant buyers and consumers through weekly orders placed on the internet.

Rural Advancement Foundation Intl.    Rural areas benefit greatly from a 3-year grant project designed to help small farmers replace lost farm income. 

Rural Economic Development Center   This innovative organization manages a state-wide drought response grant through the NCDSWC that is providing pasture renovations, well drilling and more for NC farmers.    

Silk Hope Ruritans  A new community center utilizing TTFC funds and a USDA loan provides facilities for hundreds of meetings during the year for ag-related groups, farmers, residents and others. 

Surry County  Pilot Mountain Pride is a new processing facility for the area's produce growers.  The grant pays for new equipment and marketing to help farmers develop new markets for their products.       

Tobacco Farm Life Museum  Expansion of the agricultural heritage and agritourism programs are the goals of this Johnston County landmark.

Town of Shallotte  The weekend farmers market now benefits from new equipment, tents and storage facilities with their new grant.

UNC Wilmington  A new movement is on in the southeastern region of NC to help farmers expand their market for local products.  A TTFC grant is helping with equipment.

WNC Communities  A brand new livestock marketing and events center will be built with the help of other funding partners to serve livestock producers and farm groups in western NC. 

Yancey County Schools  Mountain Heritage High School is enhancing its agricultural program with a new instructional greenhouse for its students.
